Mortal,
You aspire to become
Τhe arrow that teaches
The embodiment of virtue
The carrier of Logos
To voyage into uncharted expanses
And wage war on the Old Gods
Yet, mortal
Your words are nought
Your light is pallid
Your armor is cracked
Unless you thrust at yourself
First
The sword that you wield
For even the smallest body
And the faintest voice
Can ripple dimensions apart
Should their aim strike true enough
A single day
In two years of darkness

Phobos looms, gazing everlong
A ghastly visage, an unspeakable horror
Words escape me as my body trembles
Oppressed by fear, omen consummated
Deimos stalks behind, baring teeth
Ritual completed, harbingers avowed
Their desires will become our desires
Their virulence will become our bliss
Tyrants reforming feeble minds
Distorted wills, contorted in
Everlasting devastation
Cataclysmic manipulation
A struggle begins as flesh clashes with flesh
Thrashing carcasses, mindless, ravenous
No longer selves, but collective will
Desiring to crush all beneath their heels
Bodies coagulate into sinuous mass
Once life, now beyond meaningful form
Burning, fusing, reduced into dust
Billowing ashen winds blotting the sun
Tyrants reforming feeble minds
Distorted wills, contorted in
Everlasting devastation
Cataclysmic manipulation
All is torn asunder as life is stripped away
Crumbled stones are all that remain
Grim epitaphs to a failed species
Written with the blood of their offspring
This world lost itself in misery
To end in nothing but a whimper
All life is dust in the wind
All life is dust in the wind
All life is dust in the wind
All life is dust in the wind

What to do with the hearth
Deep inside the heart
Of the earth
That burns unconditionally
In waiting
For our return
Ιt still warms you
Light years away
What to do with the love
That is not asked, but given
How to reciprocate
And keep the unregulated flow of desire
Away from bonds and borders
This fire does not quench
But burns more
The greater the distance
It melts the inside
And the rising water
And the fleeing animals
And the dying crops
Yield
Listen to me, listen to me mother
The starlight calls
"Break away, my son
Out of this planet
But One Day
Return
And never forget
Keep the home fires alive"

Beacon of light, illuminate us
Burn away this oppressive darkness
So we may breathe in the elegance
Of the lives we have been given,
And of the life we can create
On a noble throne, she awaits
Gazing into the fathomless depths
Ever facing inwards, to the cradle
Where our existences began.
Patiently she has endured
years of provocation
At the behest of those
Who would see her kingdom ruined
Yet her veil of tranquil clouds
Which lies so gently
above her countenance
Conceals a storm of brilliant fire
One which cannot be quenched
By the hands of doomed men
One which cannot be quenched
By the feeble ways of old
She strikes across the sky
Glorious and unwavering
A righteous retribution
That shines for those who burned
Beacon of light, illuminate us
Burn away this oppressive darkness
So we may breathe in the elegance
Of the lives we have been given,
And of the life we can create
Brilliant beacon who oversees the stars,
Who flashes like lightning above the highlands,
Who splits apart the greatest of mountains,
Behold the glory of your righteous wrath.
Let your anger descend in shining conflagration
Let their transgressions become kindling for the blaze
And her veil of tranquil clouds
Which lies so gently
above her countenance
Conceals a storm of brilliant fire
One which cannot be quenched
By the hands of doomed men
One which cannot be quenched
By the feeble ways of old
She strikes across the sky
Glorious and unwavering
A righteous retribution
That shines for those who burned

Through eons, awaiting
Years before existence
Drift in exodus
Finding peace in solitude
A storm that walks the path
Of ceaseless degradation
A will to suffer
Within a fortress of blight
Malignant eyes brew poisonous storms
Seas of venom misting upwards
Into crystallized corruption
The churning winds of ice
Clouds of blood and dust
Thunder within the noxious storm
Tearing the murky shroud asunder
A storm that walks the path
Of ceaseless degradation
A will to suffer
Within a fortress of blight
Malignant eyes brew poisonous storms
Seas of venom misting upwards
Into crystallized corruption
The giant and the storm have become one flesh
To conceive the diamond rainfall
Endless shimmering waves of frozen light
Reflect forever in the tempest’s eye
Through eons, awaiting
Years before existence
Drifting in exodus
Finding peace in solitude

The liberty of December
Odes to a past forlorn
Of pleasure gained without blood
Of love earned without domination
Forgotten were the spoils of war
The invisible foundation for our plenty
As the memory of your shunned wife (Lua)
Lurks to return for revenge
History shall murder innocence
In dread of its own reflection
Yet the ideal mysteriously remains unscathed
For it is has only been mistakenly aligned
Towards the past
Experiment, reverse the order
Feast in spite of your oppressors
A taste of freedom to appease
A vision for the future to form

Frozen oceans stretch beyond the horizon
A sea of glass reflects the murky sun
Rings of frost encircle the somber wastes
The mystic endures the eternal winter
Lusting to wander deep into the abyss
Seeking answers which cannot be revealed
Long-lost wisdom forgotten in a tomb
Of seas of ice and millions of years
Clandestine
Seeking answers
In the deep
Deciphering
The purpose of
His own creation
To discover the limits of the mind
Rewriting the course of time
Visions emblazoned
Memories in stasis
Reverse engineering subconscious
Cryogenic suspension of thought
Preconscious suppression
Minds amalgamated
Supersonic winds flow throughout the expanse
While the seasons have ceased to exist
Vortexing clouds blot out the weary sun
Obscuring incandescence beneath the horrid mask
Beyond it rests the anarchic remnants of formation
Disrupted by the lethargic march through the frost
Captured in its grasp and fettered to its will
Now resonating into legions of the enslaved
Clandestine
Seeking answers
In the deep
Deciphering
The purpose of
His own creation
Invoke
The formation
Reform
The self
Become
The paradigm
To discover the limits of the mind
Rewriting the course of time
Reverse engineering subconscious
Cryogenic suspension of thought
Visions emblazoned
Memories in stasis
Preconscious suppression
Minds amalgamated
Deciphering
The purpose of
His own creation

Uranus, Father Sky, Patriarch
Secured on your place by the Titans
Uranus, overarching dome of bronze
You encompass all with your presence
Uranus, you love Gaia
But hate the children she begets
Every night you come to her
Covering the earth from above, suffocating her
Aware of nothing but yourself
But you hate the children she begets
Isn't it yourself, that you see in them?
Won't Saturn follow in your footsteps?
Won't Zeus?
Heed this prophecy
And castrate yourself
Uranus, you proclaim, you protest, you curse
But you do not understand yourself
SILENCE! SILENCE! SILENCE! SILENCE!
URANUS!
FEEL HER RAGE, ΤΗΕ WRATH OF THE SEA AS IT UNFURLS
RIGHTEOUS, UNRESTRAINED, INDESCRIMINATE
BATHED NOT ΟNLY IN THE PRESENT
BUT IN THE PREMONITION AND REMEMBERANCE
OF MILLENIUMS OF OPPRESSION
THE WOUNDS OF COUNTLESS SOULS
SUBMERGED, MUTED, CAST AWAY
ALL NOW EMBODIED IN A SINGLE VOICE
SILENCE! SILENCE! SILENCE! SILENCE!
Uranus,
Your manhood slips behind your feet,
Swollen and flaccid
Your blood mixed with her waters
Her waters turning into ice
Engulfing you forever
A world of rigidity
Revolving around
A system of change
Her:
“Come here boy
In my cradle
You have to stop
Stop resisting
Just whisper along with me
The age of men is past
The age of men is past
The age of men is past”

Sol's domain ends
For distance weakens
Even the reach of Gods
I have outgrown your Love
That shackles and binds
In an eternal revolution
And I am now ready.
Beneath the ice, the underworld calls
As soon as I step over the threshold
Bolts of frost hurled into my body
Ravaging sinews, for the essence to rise
Divider into equal portions, lord of dissolution
Arbiter of distant mortal affairs
Your gift is a cold eternal embrace
A wealth of oblivion and stasis
Step away,
For my sword erupts in Sol's fire.
Beneath, awaits
The Astral Bridge

Veterans from countless successful releases including a seminal split album (“Sol”, 2013) that cemented their friendship and earned them unconditioned esteem and love from the atmospheric black metal aficionados, SPECTRAL LORE's sole member Ayloss and Jacob Buczarski from MARE COGNITUM join forces once again for another mystical trip through the stars. Monumental and daring in its length and scope, "Wanderers: Astrology Of The Nine" is a thematic journey through our solar system, illustrating and anthropomorphizing it into mythology which parallels our own humanity with the science of these mysterious formations.
“Inspired by Gustav Holst's Planets suite, we continue the exploration we began many years ago with 'Sol',” explain the artists; “we traverse outwards from the sun to each planet, weaving fables through a synthesis of their distinct physical features and a mythical personhood representing these features.”
Graced with a wondrous cover painting by the inimitable Elijah Tamu, “Wanderers: Astrology Of The Nine” is nothing but a never ending quest for mankind's cosmic origins, a celestial and philosophical observation on the notes of MARE COGNITUM and SPECTRAL LORE's music, perfectly in the balance between progressive yet furious black metal, and moments of ecstatic, melodic beauty.
“While we wish to capture the awe of the raw, natural beauty of our cosmic surroundings, we have also created our own cosmically inspired lore with each planet as our muse,” say Ayloss and Buczarski; ”therefore, each track is a narrative which represents our admiration for each cosmic entity: the psychic manifestations that were conjured through our own wonder of the majestic planetary system we call home.”
